Summer Days, Drifting away.......

Wow, where has the summer gone? I know it has been awhile since I posted so I feel the need to reflect a little on how fast the season has just flown by. Before long, the leaves will be turning, and the holidays will be on us...the crazy time of the year when everyone is hussling and bussling to get shopping and cooking done...whew, makes me tired just thinking of all that.

I personally am not ready to give up the days of laying by the pool, relaxing with friends by the bar-b-que and drinking cold beer. I am not ready to trade my tank tops and shorts for bulky sweaters and blue jeans. I don't mind sweating while just walking out to the car, and the thermometer reading 106 degrees....I love the dogs swimming in the pool with us, and shaking off on the porch, the smell of the grass right after its been mowed, and the sounds of the birds and the neigbors sprinklers in the mornings while I sit outside with my coffee.

I love no school zones in the morning, or buses rumbling through the neighborhood. I will however appreciate that I can shop without the sounds of elementary school children screaming and running around the stores through the clothing racks with total lack of self control and exasperated mothers praying for school to start back up.

My summer has been beautiful and rather uneventful except for the occasional bar-b-cue or golf tournament. I started my new job, and I am blissfully happy with all that includes..especially working from the comfort of my own home. We have a new puppy, a wonderful anniversary gift from my husband, named Bella and she is such a sweet girl...the best present I could have ever asked for. Tucker is adjusting to her nicely and is enjoying having a playmate that is more his size (or she soon will be). The only downside to the summer was my mother's stroke. She is recovering just fine, but it was very scary and makes me realize that our time here is limited and we should not spend our days with made up illnesses and complaints of things we don't have...rather we should appreciate the blessings that we do have, and enjoy our loved ones every chance we get. Life is far too short, like the summer. It's here, and then just like that, it's gone, and always it is gone too fast...so, Enjoy whats left of it.
