I went to visit my bestie, Chicago Cris. I had not seen her in about 2 1/2 years so I anticipated this trip for a long time, and I was not disappointed! The minute I saw her, we fell back into our goofy routine. We laughed, we cried, we ate, we drank, we shopped, but mostly, WE LAUGHED AND LAUGHED AND LAUGHED.

Things I discovered in Chicago....it is a WINDY city, and cold, and rainy (at least when I was there). Garrett's Popcorn is scrumptious and addictive. I love, love, love Trader Joes and wish there was one here in Houston. Mocha Coconut Lattes are the best drink at Starbucks. Tuliptinis at the Knickerbocker Hotel ROCK!!! Navy Pier is so much fun, even with 50 mph wind and a windchill factor of about -5. Payless has great bling, and tennis shoes when all you have are flip flops. I love Bloomies and Filenes Basement. I wish I would have gone back to Louis Vuitton and bought the purse my hubby said I could buy, but maybe next time :(

The biggest thing I discovered is that some friendships are timeless and priceless. When someone can make you laugh so hard that you cry, hang on to them. Enjoy them, and tell them how much they mean to you. I hope she knows, and I can't wait till we can get together again...my tummy still hurts from laughing so hard but it was SOOOOOO worth it!

My new hangout

Friends, I have completely fallen in love with my little town of Montgomery, and now there is even more reason to be in love! Cork This Winery is a small hometown winery on the corner of 149 and Hwy. 105 that my friend Jen introduced me to. It has been open for almost a year now, and I can't believe that I never ventured in until two weeks ago. It is the cutest place!! It's owners, Fawn and Karla are just the sweetest ladies and they have done themselves proud with this awesome little niche. They sell wine, of course...by the the bottle and the glass. While cozying up to the bar, they will bring out cheese and crackers and treat you to tastings of anything on the menu (3 per customer). There is great chit-chat and a quick lesson in wine-making techniques and grapes they use, how they got started, how life in a winery has been treating them. But the wine...OMG, the wine. I could talk for days about the lovely Sisters Who Sip (a blueberry Pinot Noir that had been sold out since Christmas but is now back in stock), or the Summer Sipper (a surprisingly light peach apricot Chardonney blend). I purchased both on my two separate visits to the winery. Probably the biggest surprise was the Girls Night Out (a green apple Reisling that is so crisp and clean and I can totally picture bottles of this by the pool this summer!) and if you normally turn your nose up at Reisling because it is too sweet...don't be to quick to judge, you really must taste it for yourself.

Treat yourself and your favorite BFF to a trip to Cork This Winery and see for yourself. A great place to spend a Saturday afternoon shopping for wine accessories (they have a great selection) and sipping some great wine. You will go back time and again, and probably take at least a bottle home each time (or maybe 3).

Valentines Day is nearly hear(t)!

Roses are dandy, sweets are a treat...but one of these gifts really can't be beat!

These sweet little items are affordable, oh-so-cute, and really...who wouldn't love to get one of these from their sweetie? And OMG, it is so Gucci! The spring/summer 2010 collection is in and there is absolutely NOTHING I don't love about it. Perusing through the online collection, I saw beautiful geometric prints and necklines. Platform sandals that are a mile high and gorgeous! Bags that are soft and squishy leather that I would love to carry. This is a collection that is made for normal people (with a huge bank account). What I mean is, there is nothing too weird or "runway" about this collection. It is wearable!! Cute shorts, lovely drapey halters, a pair of khaki capris that I could live in, no really....I want to live in those capris.

This is a collection that I would love to emulate for my spring/summer wardrobe. My heart is all aflutter for the darling Burberry Painted Heart rainboots, but sadly, at $175.00, my hubby would go into defib if I bought them. Afterall, while practical in a rainy setting like Seattle, not so much so here in Houston. Don't get me wrong, it does rain alot here, but not $175.00 rainboot alot. I also adore the Coach Pixy rainboot but at $108.00, still a little out of my rainboot budget. The Kamik Hearts rainboot is a much more "wallet friendly" version for me considering the seasonality of which I will wear them and at only $55.00 I think my husband's health will stay in tact.

A Sweetheart of a Valentines Day outfit

This year I have decided to surprise the hubs with a little "dress up" for Valentines day. It's been awhile since we really did something special on V.D. since my birthday is so close (February 1st in case you were wondering). I think I have found the perfect outfit (sans the Wilma Flintstone necklace) for a night out on the town with my favorite Valentine. I am totally loving these shoes!!! T-straps are so sexy, and the little punch of red is very festive. I don't do many strapless outfits but when I do, the sweetheart neckline of this cute little dress is the most flattering choice for me so I think I could pull it off. I love a halter too...maybe for Presidents Day.

Golf-Just an excuse to shop?

Ok, so for Christmas my dear hubby bought me golf lessons so that I can see what his obsession is all about. I'm not gonna lie people. There was a time when I thought watching golf was as exciting as watching paint dry, but no more. After volunteering in a few tournaments, and watching the golf channel (no kidding, in my house it's all golf, all the time), I have to say that I am pretty excited about learning how to play. If you have ever met my husband, you know that he is a bigger clothes horse than I am, so immediately I think to myself, hmmm..gotta shop for cute golf apparel!! Yay, finally an excuse to shop that my husband can relate to, right?

Saturday, I bought the cutest little golf shoes (they were on sale, so of course I got 2 pair cuz you gotta have black and white). I also got the ultimate golf outfit. A navy skort with white trim across the bottom, a navy sleeveless polo, and the CUTEST white cardigan with navy stripes at the cuffs and button lines...soooooo cute!!! I must say that I look smashing in it, and like a real golfer!!! Or at the very least, a person who is trying to look like a golfer but way cuter :) So now I am ready to hit the driving range and twirl around in my little skort, show off the new shoes, and hope I don't get anything on my pretty white sweater.

The Family Christmas

Well, another year has come and gone...to be honest, I was a little blue at Christmas this year. Being an empty nester definitely has it's advantages, but when it comes to the holidays, I want all my chicks in the nest. I miss the days with the kids when we would bake cookies, make candy, and sip hot cocoa. I miss pulling out all the ornaments and oohing and aahing over each one remembering the time and place we got it. Gone are the days when the kids would argue over who had to fluff the branches, or who had to help wrap the packages. No, this year was different. I almost didn't put up a tree, it took me weeks to decide. I brought all the boxes down from the attic, and when I started to open them I got very sad and depressed. I cried all day! So I left them in the dining room, and prepared for our vacation instead. When we came back home on December 12th they were still there, waiting for me...almost calling me to put them up and bring the holiday spirit into the house. So, I tearfully called my oldest, then my youngest and set a date for them to come and help. I was happy again. Until they called me the Christmas Nazi...so much for family time spent together. But hey, even that is a memory, right?

Summer Days, Drifting away.......

Wow, where has the summer gone? I know it has been awhile since I posted so I feel the need to reflect a little on how fast the season has just flown by. Before long, the leaves will be turning, and the holidays will be on us...the crazy time of the year when everyone is hussling and bussling to get shopping and cooking done...whew, makes me tired just thinking of all that.

I personally am not ready to give up the days of laying by the pool, relaxing with friends by the bar-b-que and drinking cold beer. I am not ready to trade my tank tops and shorts for bulky sweaters and blue jeans. I don't mind sweating while just walking out to the car, and the thermometer reading 106 degrees....I love the dogs swimming in the pool with us, and shaking off on the porch, the smell of the grass right after its been mowed, and the sounds of the birds and the neigbors sprinklers in the mornings while I sit outside with my coffee.

I love no school zones in the morning, or buses rumbling through the neighborhood. I will however appreciate that I can shop without the sounds of elementary school children screaming and running around the stores through the clothing racks with total lack of self control and exasperated mothers praying for school to start back up.

My summer has been beautiful and rather uneventful except for the occasional bar-b-cue or golf tournament. I started my new job, and I am blissfully happy with all that includes..especially working from the comfort of my own home. We have a new puppy, a wonderful anniversary gift from my husband, named Bella and she is such a sweet girl...the best present I could have ever asked for. Tucker is adjusting to her nicely and is enjoying having a playmate that is more his size (or she soon will be). The only downside to the summer was my mother's stroke. She is recovering just fine, but it was very scary and makes me realize that our time here is limited and we should not spend our days with made up illnesses and complaints of things we don't have...rather we should appreciate the blessings that we do have, and enjoy our loved ones every chance we get. Life is far too short, like the summer. It's here, and then just like that, it's gone, and always it is gone too fast...so, Enjoy whats left of it.

A New Year, A New Job, A New Purse....

Well, it's been so long since I posted, I figured I should update for those who care...Christmas was an amazing time, spent with family (32 people in my house) and a great time was had by all. It was an opportunity to show off the new house and all my limited decorating skills to family and to generate enough garbage to fill a small Mexican town. The kids were pleased with their hauls, and the older kids are finding out what it is like to receive things for your home instead of IPODS, XBoxes, etc. We really had a blast. And my hubby was no slouch in the gift department this year AGAIN...I was blessed with a new wallet to match my new Coach bag he gave me a month early, and the Tiffany necklace and earrings to match my bracelet he bought me last year. He is so good!!!

I forgot to mention our Vegas trip which was so much fun but about 2 days too long.
We had a great time at the rodeo. The hotel was beautiful and we had a great room with a really terrific view of the city. I won lots of money$$$ which is so unusual for me, because IF I gamble, I usually lose. But I don't usually gamble because that is shoe or purse money that I could be spending, right? So, I won all this money, and Bill insisted that I go have fun and shop with it, so I couldn't disappoint him....Of course I shopped. My favorite lipgloss from Chanel and new sunnies (see pic ) were first on my list..so cute, with little crystal flowers and logo, then off to Coach to get the Black signature Sabrina with matching mini, and of course a quick stop at Juicy Couture for perfume. Not only was I looking great, now I smelled great as well. We also took a helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon and it was AMAZING. I thought I would be totally freaked out, but really it was so cool.

New Years Eve was relatively quiet, spent here at home. Brian and Leslie came over to ring in the new year as is our annual B&L tradition...(remember last year Leslie tied one on, then found out she was pregnant the next day upon returning home?) Well, little Travis helped us celebrate this year. Also, Amanda & Todd (friends and my hairdresser) came by, drank alot, then left before midnite. It was fun. New Years day we grilled and ate till we couldn't move....yeah, typical.

Now, the new job started on the 17th and so far my head is spinning....it is great, and the doctor is really the nicest person. I am just trying to get back in the routine of working, I have been off for so long. Around 2:00 I have a sinking spell and wish I could sit in the recliner and turn on the Food Network before cooking dinner for the hubs. Not to be....busy, busy, busy. It is good, but will take some getting used to. Oh, and my little Tucker is missing me so much....:( Oh well...gotta make money to feed the ever growing purse habit of mine, ya know?

Something Fishy goin' on

Ok, GROSS! Has anyone ever heard of this? It is a "fish" pedicure and it has been outlawed here in Texas....ya think? Now I am a pretty free thinker when it comes to beauty regimens. Some might even say innovative, but this? I have even been known to enjoy having my toes nibbled on by the hubs, but this goes a little far. The concept is that the little innocent fishies will nibble the dead skin off your feet....eeeewww! I realize that fish aren't exactly particular about their diet, but did they really sign up for this? The fish is a type of carp called a Garra Rufa (or doctor fish) and apparently this is all the rage amoung the "jet setters". My other thought is that after a long summer of sandals, flip-flops, and going barefooted, its gonna take a much bigger fish to tackle the dead skin around my heels that even Burts Bees hasn't been able to smooth. My nail lady, Tammy uses a cheese grater on my feet....well, not just on mine but on all the pedicures she does. I was amazed by that! But fish? Gives a whole new meaning to "finding Nemo". Ok, and the fact that they use the same fish to clean multiple customers feet....ok ICK!!!!!!!!!! Well, I am curious if anyone has ever heard of this or even had it done. Please tell me all about it....call it morbid curiosity.

xoxo

Key Lime Pie, Jewelry, and Sassy

Ok, so you may think that all I do is surf the net for my next great bag to lust after, or shop....not so! Today I made a key lime pie for the hubs...it's his favorite, and I made an extra one to send to my neighbors behind us. They are so awesome, and during Hurricane Ike when we were without power for 6 days, we mainly ate dinner at their house because they have a gas stove. We have become great friends she and I, and her husband and Bill golf together and are buds. Well, she called to tell me that my key lime was the best she had ever tasted..not to sweet, not to limey. It made my day to hear that!!! For those of you who know me, you are aware that Bill didn't marry me for my culinary abilities....but I am practicing and getting so much better. I am rather proud.

Ok, so about the jewelry. I am having a Silpada Jewelry party and am thinking about becoming a representative and selling myself (part-time) mainly to get free jewelry, but also a little extra spending cash. If you have never seen the jewelry, it is beautiful and very high quality. Let me know if you want anything, I am sure I can hook you up!

On a sadder note, my parents had to put one of the beloved yorkies, Sassy to sleep today. They are really beside themselves. She had a brain lesion that was being treated at A&M by the vets there. They couldn't save her. It is very sad. Please keep them in your thoughts....these dogs are their babies. They have (had) 5 of them. Sampson, Delilah, Sugar, Sassy, and Lilly. They are heartbroken.

My Oh My.....How Pretty

Ok, well...I had just about given up on Coach bags all together. There were so many fakes out there that I felt like everywhere I looked, someone had a Coach and they were no longer exclusive and special. Well, imagine my surprise when perussing my Lucky Magazine (sept issue) and saw this lovely, no....gorgeous bag. Well, I was intrigued, and my heart beat a little faster when I saw it. I had to see it in person, but to my dismay, it isn't being released (even online) until September 26th. With hope in my heart, I went to my local Coach store in the fabulous Woodlands Mall. I told the salesperson I was dying to see this great new bag that turned my Coach sadness back to gladness. It just so happened that they had received their first shipment of the lovely Sabrina Satchel in leather just that day and would be willing to give me a sneak peek. Ok, so this bag is wonderful....soft squishy leather, huge on the inside, and it can be carried as a satchel or a shoulder bag. She even had me remove everything from my Coach Legacy and put it inside for an idea of how to organize everything and for fit ideas. Everything fit perfectly with room to spare, and if you know me at all, you know I carry everything but the kitchen sink in my bags which is why I like them big. And at only $498.00, it is certainly alot more cost effective than my dream bag Chanel at $2125.00.

Needless to say, I have promised to forego all other Christmas items for this bag in hopes that the hubs will surprise me with it. Meanwhile, I am scrounging through the sofas, and cleaning all spare change from the vehicles and pants pockets to start the Coach Sabrina fund. If everyone who reads this sends me a dollar, I should be able to purchase this bag on my own by, say, 2048....Oh well...

Hurricane Travis Makes Landfall

Well folks, its so exciting!!! Travis Michael was born last night at 11:30 after about 14 hours of hard labor and eventually a C-Section after 2 hours of difficult pushing. Mom and Baby Travis are doing great. Mom is exhausted but happy he is here, and Daddy is just beside himself. I was so blessed to help coach Leslie with her labor, and then I was able to be in the operating room with Mom when he was delivered (thanks to dad's weak stomach). Wow, I am in awe of the whole thing, and Leslie was so brave and strong. I couldn't be prouder of her! Oh, and he was 7 lbs, 13 oz. 21" long...what a little darling! I see many babysitting dates in our future.

What Does Your IPOD Music Say About You?

I am blessed with this little hole in my car stereo that I can plug my wonderful IPOD into (its called an auxillary plug, but whatev). Anyway 4 hours is a long drive with 2 Chihuahuas and only one Starbucks pitstop between Dallas and Houston so as I was tooling along in the 300 thinking what a diverse group of playlists I have on my IPOD. I mean really diverse...it is almost bizarre. So then I wondered what that says about me. I mean, if I lost it somewhere and someone else found it, what would they think about this person with the lime green IPOD and random songs from just about every generation and genre of music. For example, I have a great old song by Peggy Lee called The End of the World . I remember my mom listening to Peggy Lee, Bobby Vinton, Ella Fitzgerald. That song is sad, but it reminds me of when I was little and my mom ALWAYS had music playing on the record player. I have that song Rock Me Gently by Andy Kim. You might recognize it as the song on the commercial where the guy is driving down the road in some little SUV and all the animals come in and start singing...I don't remember what the product was, but anyway...that song was one of my favorites when I was growing up. I loved it before the commercial. I have a wonderful song called I Can Only Imagine by Mercy Me and it still brings me to tears and compells me to pray everytime I hear it. Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion has the same effect because I think of not a lover but God when I hear it. Theres the one called Dream a Little Dream of Me by the Mamas and the Papas and also California Dreaming. I have Fighter by Christina Aguilara and it is a fav of mine because it reminds me of BAD past relationships and how I didn't let them take over my life but became stronger because of them. Theres the song by Queen called Don't Stop Me Now which is my all time favorite workout song and really keeps me pumped up. The Boys of Summer reminds me of Chicago Cris and a very bad double date we went on in our younger, stupider, single years...I love Daughtry and have some of his stuff, Stained and Matchbox 20 too. There are country songs that bring a certain someone to mind when I hear them but make me happy that I have moved on to the most important and intimate relationship I have ever known and that is with my husband. Too many songs on my IPOD reflect those loving memories of our 8 years together. Like I Could Not Ask For More which we played at our wedding, and almost every love song by Tim and Faith. I have lots of songs from the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack and a ton of George Strait. I even have a song from One Tree Hill called Halo and I love it.

I guess the music we listen to, the books we read, the way we decorate our house, and the way we dress reflects something about our personality. Mine is pretty broad (like my hips and my mind). It says alot about my thoughts and feelings. I am curious to know what are some of the songs my friends have on their IPODS and what that music meant to them when they decided to download it...

xoxoxo
kelley

Settling In, Getting A Routine

Well, we have been in Houston exactly two weeks now and we seem to be settling into somewhat of a routine. We are staying with my pseudo-mother in law and I am sure just disrupting her life all to hell. But it is going well. Up at 6:00 to make coffee and breakfast and get the hubby out the door. Let the dogs out (all 4 of them) and drink coffee, have a cigarette.....now this is where I get stuck. What to do next? Well, then I check a few emails, do a little online window shopping...mmmm. Ok, I know, Poor Kelley, doesn't know what to do with herself. It is difficult to establish some sort of routine when you aren't in your own house, with your own chores, etc., and when you are used to working. Of course I wash a load of laundry, drop off drycleaning, cook dinners, etc. I spent yesterday with my PMIL running to Sam's and Costco (she has a catering business) then to this great little Tea Room in Tomball for the most amazing chicken salad and a piece of pie called Yum-Yum pie which was.....YUM YUM. Then we walked around the little shops on Main street and it was nice and relaxing. I am also planning a baby shower for my BFF and that has become pretty time consuming.

You would think I spend alot of my time shopping....right? Well, I have done a little shopping. A trip to the new outlet mall for Polo t-shirts for hubby proved to be for nothing since THERE IS NO POLO OUTLET at the new outlet mall....I did manage to pick up 3 new tops for myself though at Tommy H. so it wasn't a complete waste of time and gas. I have also acquired 3 new pair of flip flops to add to the evergrowing collection, a pair of shorts, and a new pair of capris. Oh, and the most darling pair of reading glasses...(go me!) Anyway, it is hot and humid and my hair is frizzy. I am NOT staying with my diet plan but everyday I say I will be better tomorrow. I also have not found a gym yet since we are only in Tomball temporary it is difficult to find one with month to month memberships so it is easy to use that as an excuse not to work out. I have been going to tan and I am getting that lovely bronzy hue I love...

We are supposed to close on the new house on June 16th. I am very excited about that and there will be a few weeks of remodeling/updating before we can move in. I will post pics during the process, you know like before and after so everyone can see the progress. I believe I will be much less boring when I have my own house again. One can only hope.

xoxoxo and Love to McKinney,
kelley

New Shoes, New City

Ok, so we did tons of shopping this weekend and these were my first purchase. I just fell in love! Aren't they cute and summery?
We managed to get Leslie all registered for baby Travis and I picked up lots of little outfits for the soon to arrive little darlin. I am in alot of trouble when I become a grandmother. Picked up some cute Coach sunnies too...it was a very good shopping weekend.

On another note, I am sad (and excited too) to report that I will be leaving my beloved McKinney to move back to Houston with my wonderful hubby. He has been transferred back and it is happening really quickly. We will be back "home" mid May just in time for the sweltering Houston summers but it will be ok. I see a swimming pool in the backyard in my very near future. Those of you that know me well, know that I have absolutely loved living in the DFW area and will be so sad to leave, but I am all about being supportive of DH and Houston is home to most of our family and his kids so it is where we belong. Please keep us in your thoughts as we start a new chapter in our lives and pray for my sanity as I try to ready the house for the move. It is an exciting time!

xoxox

kelley

Inspirations are everywhere!

It has truly been a week of inspirations. Just so that you ALL know, I am not just about shopping and purses and shoes...I have to let you know that this week I have been inspired by so much. Maybe it is the weather, maybe it is the birth of a baby belonging to someone who I think was destined to be a mommy, maybe it is my darling hubby, or is it the lovely spring fashion colors????? Below is a list of my current inspirations. Feel free to comment if you are feeling particularly inspired.

1. Ali - WINNER OF THE BIGGEST LOSER. Omigosh, she lost like 112 lbs since January and she looks amazing, like a world class athlete and she is my hero. She is why I ordered grilled chicken at Salt Grass tonight.

2. My son, Joshua- He has always marched to the beat of a different drummer and marched in his second protest this weekend against the Church of Scientology. While I don't always agree with him or what he stands for, I totally am amazed that I raised this free thinker who stands up for what he believes in no matter what the consequences....and he is pretty smart to boot but doesn't always use his head. Well, he is 19 so what do you expect?

3. The weather is amazing out (minus the tornados last week) and I love that we are so blessed with this gorgeous springtime. It is my favorite time of the year if it would just stay warm now. I am done with the cold and am ready to pack away those sweaters for the season!!! (I will miss my pretty boots, but gotta love flip-flops)

4. My mom sent me an email that just tickled me last night ...I laughed so hard cuz she is such a goof-ball. She is a continuous inspiration to me and I just love her.

5. I am inspired by my new "blog" friend who is a lovely person with a lovely family and I am always inspired after seeing her and her sweet little darling Jailyn. You seem to have this amazing energy and I can see what an inspiration you are to your family. I cannot think of a better "forever" family for your little Jorga to come home to and she will be a great addition to your already awesome family. They are blessed to have you.

Ok, enough of this mushiness!!! I am excited that I will be going home to Houston this weekend to see Leslie and Brian. I will be taking Les to register for the baby and we will be finishing up the guest list for the shower. I am getting a little excited about it, even though it isn't until June. The boys are going to New Braunsfels for a car swap meet or something. I just know there will be some rusty heap being pulled behind the Excursion that Bill just cannot live without. Don't worry, because I am sure Les and I will travel to the brand new outlet mall in Cypress. I have been eyeballing this precious little straw bag at Michael Kors and I might have to make it my own.

Well, I guess that is all for now.....there is much big news in the making but that will have to wait for another blog on another day! xoxoxo

kelley

New Purse

Ok guys....give me your opinions on the bag my sweet hubby ordered me for Christmas. Thats me this weekend. Friday started with a movie date with my honey. We saw I AM LEGEND and it was just so-so. It was nasty and rainy out so we came home and ordered chinese and cuddled. Saturday, he had to work so I was determined to finish (start) my Christmas shopping. I have all but a couple little things finished and that feels awesome, but now I have to wrap it all. When Bill was done working, he took me to this great place in downtown McKinney for a great dinner. Ricks Chophouse- I highly recommend it. I had a Grey Goose pear martini that was to die for!!! Bill had the filet (natch) and I had BarBQue Shrimp and Grits....yummmmmmyyyy! We left full and happy. We stopped and test drove the Excursion he wants to buy, great ride but sooooo big.

As always, today is laundry day, and I keep getting sidetracked....I cleaned out my junk drawer, my car, my underwear drawer, my jewelry drawer...folded some laundry, made some soup..I have some bananas going bad and I need to make some banana nut bread for my honey but I have no eggs :(. I need to wrap presents but forgot tissue paper....

List of stuff to finish today:
1. Go pick up tissue paper and dog food
2. Make bread
3. Fold remaining laundry
4. Bring drycleaning in from car
5. Wrap presents
6. Watch Cowboys Kick Some Ass!

List of things I actually will finish today:
1. Watch Cowboys Kick Some Ass
2. Surf the internet
3. Eat soup
4. Fold most of remaining laundry (but one load always stays in the dryer all week long)
5. Laugh at my husband

Oh well! Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....what a concept.

xoxoxo

kelley

The Purses, Oh The Purses

Ok, a girl can dream can't she? Isn't this bag spectacular?

In my oh-so-dull life, one of my favorite past-times is surfing the internet for the latest in beautiful handbags. A purse is a bag that costs less than $100.00 but when you start talking about Coach, Louis V, Prada, and CHANEL.....well, then it becomes a handbag ( as a great friends dear husband once told me). I am not wild about alot of the Chanel styles, but this one was just way to awesome and at a whopping $3750.00 it is going to have to remain in my dreams only! My other dream handbag is a gorgeous patent leather shopping tote with braided handles. (I am saving my pennies for that one because I must own it before I die, and YES, please bury it with me!!! It is a little more on the affordable side, but not something I could do without saving for about 2 years for. Thank goodness it is a timeless classic and will not go out of style before I get enough saved.

If you are a purse fanatic like me, visit www.purseblog.com and feed your obsession. There are daily posts on the latest handbags, fashion tips and links to wonderful websites for all the most awesome bags available on the net. There is also a forum where other purseaholics like myself can go to gab about bags and show off their wonderful collections. I get a kick out of seeing the great purses other women have collected over the years. They can even help authenticate a bag if you think you have come across and imitation bag, and they can direct you to sites that sell ONLY authentic designer bags.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have my share of inexpensive, yet cute and functional bags but you can't beat the smell of Coach leather.....I have even been known to buy from the back rooms of some of the seedier shops on Harwin in Houston. But when it comes right down to it, I think I have allowed myself to become quite the purse snob....oh well, there are worse things in life I guess.

Have a great night!

xoxoxoxo

Bionics and Shoes

Ok, so we have been watching the new series The Bionic Woman and for those of you old enough to remember the original, I have to say...Please don't waste your time with this new one. This chick is no Lindsay Wagner and where the hell is Steve Austin? She has this kid sister she has guardianship over, the guy who got kicked off of Grey's Anatomy is on here, and there is this other crazy bionic chick who's bionics don't quite work right chasing her all the time. I am completely lost, and totally disappointed. Take my advice and skip it, catch up on the episodes of Dancing With the Stars that you have TIVO'd, do some laundry, or blog about some other useless, meaningless show you can't get into.

I have posted a picture of my latest obsession besides DWTS and purses....Christian Louboutin shoes. This pair is fabulous and I really want them. Please send your shoe donations to Kelley's Shoe Obsession Fund, c/o Neiman Marcus Shoe Department, Never Gonna Happen, Texas. They will know me since I am the one who always comes in, trys on, then cries! I have been hunting pairs at the Last Call outlet, but alas, I have only managed to find some nifty Manolos and a few Jimmy Choo's......and be forewarned, Manolos are not for the fat footed such as myself....the Louboutin's fit like a glove and seriously, I hear the angels sing when I try a pair on. I do wish I had bionic legs so I could run out of the store and no one could catch me in my fabulous shoes! Which reminds me of the book on CD I just finished. Shoe Addicts Anonymous. A must read. It is funny and sometimes a little dirty, and there is a part about a pubic hair that is not to be missed!

Have an awesome week!

xoxoxo

A New Look, A New Blog

Well guys, I know it's been awhile since you have heard from me. I am going to try to get better at blogging again. I am still blogging on myspace since I have some friends there too, but I am changing up the look here a bit and will be updating here as often as time allows.

But for today.....it's that time again, folks. Thats right! It's a brand new season of Dancing With the Stars. If you are a fanatic like me, you are watching and already making your predictions for winners this season. Right now, I will have to make an early call for Helio and Julianne. However, because I am a Dallasite, I have to pull for my man Mark Cuban. He made it past round 2 tonite and we are so proud. If you are a fan (and even if you aren't) go to ABC.com and vote for our favorite Dallas Mav's owner! He is a cutie and whats more, he had hip replacement 2 months ago and is working his tail off. You get 11 votes so show your support!!!!

Have a great week guys! See you soon.

xoxoxo

kelley
